Keming Primary School is a school with humble beginnings. Established in 1935, it was funded with money from public-spirited and philanthropic pioneers who believed in overcoming all odds to bring education to the villagers. They believed that education was the best way to improve the livelihood of the villagers. In line with the belief, the Chinese medium school was named Keok Ming Public School. In Chinese, Keok (克) means to overcome difficulties and Ming (明) means brightness. When put together, the name Keok Ming signifies one’s ability to overcome adversities for a promising future.
