Fernvale Gardens School (芬微园学校)> was formerly known as Yio Chu Kang Gardens School. The school moved to its present location at Fernvale Road in June 2008 and was officially named Fernvale Gardens School on 23 June 2008. The school was officially opened by Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence on 17 July 2009.
The new school has purpose-built facilities such as a Multi-Purpose Hall, Field and Basketball court, Children’s Library, Media Resource Library, Home Economics room, Art and Science room, Computer room, Pre-vocational Training room and Indoor Play room. In addition, we also have a Physiotherapy room, Sensory Integration room and Speech Therapy room where therapy sessions are carried out. Our MINDS Curriculum Development Unit is also located on the 2nd level of the Admin Block.
Currently, the school runs 3 programmes:
Junior, Senior and Special Classes.
Currently, there are 19 classes in both the morning and afternoon session. There are 6 junior classes, 7 senior classes and 6 special classes with a total pupil enrolment of 250.
The school curriculum is tailored to develop our pupils to be as independent as possible. In addition to functional academic subjects such as language arts, numeracy, science and social studies, pupils are taught other daily adaptive living skills and community living skills (home economics, prevocational skills, health education and personal care, travel skills)
