NAFA Arts Preschool (formerly NAFA Arts Kindergarten), is the first arts-themed preschool in Singapore.
Our unique curriculum inspires learning and growth through the arts. Our fine arts programme is interwoven into academic learning, which propels them to mastery.
We build our core curriculum around six domains, based on Ministry of Education’s kindergarten curriculum framework, Nurturing Early Learners i.e. Language and Literacy, Numeracy, Social and Emotional Development, Motor Skills Development, Discovery of the World and the Arts.
Our fine arts programme is designed and conducted by our very own industry veterans. It covers the following art forms:
- Music (Keyboard and introduction to a variety of instruments)
- Visual Arts (2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional art)
- Dance (Creative movement and ballet)
- Speech and Drama (Bilingual)
Our new Bencoolen Campus is thoughtfully designed to facilitate an enriching curriculum for our children. A sanctuary for self-discovery and learning, the spaces are also planned to complement our teaching and learning approach.
The interior space of NAFA Arts Preschool (Bencoolen Campus) stresses open layouts and glass windows to provide visual interconnectivity. Classroom walls have glass panels and children-access passageways, creating opportunities for interplay and interactions between different classes, as well as to create new opportunities for teaching and learning. Children can peer into others’ classrooms while being observed at their own work. A more open, transparent design also provides greater line of sight for teachers inside and outside of the classrooms.
The open dining area is a main gathering and communal space that can hold up to 50 children. Dedicated spaces have been set aside for the arts programmes, including an atelier for visual art, a dance studio and a music studio.
Careful thought has also been given to the colour scheme throughout the 10,580 square feet space. The colour schemes are designed to enhance learning for different age groups. Clean, fresh neutral colours have been chosen for the walls, complemented with uplifting accent colours to highlight fun and play areas.
